The Southern Highlands sits about 90 minutes south-west of Sydney, where the highway climbs into cooler air and the pace drops noticeably. Bowral, Berrima, Mittagong and Moss Vale each have their own character — Georgian architecture, good farmers markets, antique shops, and excellent restaurants.
