Guggenheim is among the 20th century’s leading architectural landmarks. Designed by Guggenheim’s Frank Lloyd Wright, this great museum was completed in 1959. The museum’s vast rotunda has been the site where many unique exhibitions that are well celebrated took place. Legendary collections ranging from Impressionism to contemporary art are housed within the Guggenheim’s smaller galleries.

The Guggenheim can be accessed by subway, bus or car.

By Subway: Board the 4, 5, or 6 train to 86th Street to get to the Guggenheim by subway. Walk towards the west on 86th Street, turn to the right at 5th Avenue and continue northward to 88th Street.

By Bus: Getting to the museum by bus can be achieved by taking the M1, M2, M3, or M4 bus on Madison or Fifth Avenue.

By Car: From the Bronx, Northern New Jersey, and New England
Go to 96th Street exit by following Henry Hudson Parkway southwards; cross Central Park, then turn right on Fifth Avenue and drive southwards to 89th Street.

From Brooklyn and Staten Island
Travel through the Williamsburg Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, or Battery Tunnel to FDR Drive northwards, then go out at 96th Street. Continue to drive towards the west on 96th Street to Fifth Avenue then turn left on Fifth Avenue and drive south to 89th Street.

From Southern New Jersey
Get to Holland Tunnel uptown exit through New Jersey Turnpike. Northbound Hudson Street becomes Eighth Avenue, which becomes Central Park West at 86th Street, turn to the right and cross Central Park; turn to the left on Madison Avenue and drive north to 89th Street then turn left on 89th Street and drive a little further to Fifth Avenue.

From Bronx, Queens, Long Island, Upstate New York, and New England via Triborough Bridge
Go towards the south on FDR Drive to 96th Street exit, then drive westward to Fifth Avenue. Turn left on Fifth Avenue then drive towards the south to 89th Street.

From Queens and Long Island via Queens borough Bridge
Go by right-lane exit to the west side of 60th Street  at Madison Avenue then turn right and drive towards the north/uptown till you get to 89th Street and turn left, then drive westward to Fifth Avenue.

Several parking garages are located within walking distance from the museum. Street parking is allowed on alternate side on Fifth Avenue and its side streets. Impark Parking is between Madison and Park Avenues at 40 East 89th Street. Another parking garage, Sylvan Parking is available at 60 East 90th Street. These two garages offer discounts to visitors to the Guggenheim. Impark gives discount from 10 am on weekdays and all day on weekends. To receive discounts to either garage, you need to validate your parking ticket at the Membership Desk.

The Guggenheim is open to visitors during the hours of 10 am–5:45 pm on Sundays–Wednesdays, 10 am–5:45 pm on Fridays and 10 am–7:45 pm on Saturdays. Some galleries within the museum may close before these times on each day. The museum is usually closed on Thursdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.

Ticket fees are in categories. Adult visitors pay $18 while students and Senior citizens (65 years +) with valid ID pay $15. Children are also welcome at the Guggenheim; they are privileged to visit the museum at no fees if they are below age 12.
